See Sean Welch work the torch to achieve detailed glass ornaments, October 2-3 and 9-10, 2015. This style of glasswork, also called flame work or lamp work, uses a harder Pyrex-like borosilicate material that starts as tubes and rods, and is shaped into intricate forms in the flame of a torch. See the ornaments take shape 11am-4pm Friday and Saturday at Avalon Glassworks in West Seattle. Kids welcome. Visit us at 2914 SW Avalon Way, Seattle, WA 98126, next door to Luna Park Café.
